Shelling
PURPOSE:
To make a mold of the highest quality, by following the type B work instructions.
INPUTS AND OUTPUTS:
What and How Output
1) To look at job routers when parts are back
in wax.
To assure the job is ready to go to shelling and that there is the right number of trees.
2) Bringing wax patterns from Wax to Shelling. To assure the wax patterns do not get damaged while being transported from wax to shell.
3) The washing of wax patterns per the AWI
work instructions. 
In order to have a clean surface for the first coat to bond with the wax surface.
4) The filling out of Shelling work instructions.

The filling out of work instructions in order to build the shell in based on the part specific shell requirements.

5) Building shell per work Instructions. Following work instructions to assure the right shell is being made for the right part number.
6) To maintain slurry and sand beds. To keep slurry within its specifications and to keep the level of the slurry high enough in order not to break wax patterns. Sand beds must be kept clean in order to make the strongest shell possible.
7) The use of safety equipment and gear. In order to keep employees safe the use of safety equipment and gear is to be used and worn at all times.
8) 6-S House keeping and organizing will be the job of every employee. In order to keep the department neat and orderly.

1) The heavy lifting of molds safely and correctly.
2) To be a team player, some one who will do what it takes to the job done right.
3) To come to work and give it you’re all. Attendance is a big part of your employment in the
Shelling Department and at Bescast.

REQUIREMENTS – EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
1) High school diploma/GED.
2) Basic computer skills.
