Certified NDT Associate
PURPOSE:
To acquire the skills necessary to achieve the levels of certification in the FPI, Xray, or MPI department that will permit the individual to process and inspect product through the various NDT departments
INPUTS AND OUTPUTS:
What and How Output
1. Learn the necessary procedures and acquire
the skills to achieve certification for a specific
NDT discipline.
Associate will be certified to perform processing and inspection of product in the various NDT departments.
2. Process Parts through the NDT department for which they are certified. Product will flow through the specific NDT department to contribute to the company and customer delivery schedule requirements.
3. Acquire the necessary skills to utilize the
computer DBR system for proper prioritization
of the work load in the dept.   		 Meet customer and Bescast production scheduling requirements.
4. Maintain records as needed per customer and
internal Bescast requirements.

Satisfy internal and external customer audit/ record retention requirements.

1) Acquire the skills and knowledge to achieve certification to the appropriate level.
2) Consistently meet Quality and Efficiency requirements.
3) Good written and verbal skills, the ability to interface with internal and external customers.
4) The operator is expected to show continuous and satisfactory progress in the work responsibilities as determined by their supervisor.
5) Follow the appropriate Operating type A & B work instructions.
6) The ability to make decisions based on judgment if required.
7) Acquire the skill necessary to certify to multiple NDT disciplines.
8) Must be aware of any health or safety hazards or products in the department as described in the
manual used for the department.
9) Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
INTERFACE:
Contacts Purpose
NDT Manager
Technical Support for training and test preparation.   
Other department Supervisors and personnel To address daily production or quality issues.
Customer and NADCAP auditors Communicate with auditors during audits to demonstrate proficiency and compliance to requirements in which they are certified.  
Engineering Department Communicate with engineers to resolve product quality issues.
Department  Level III  Resolution of problems with equipment or procedure/process issues. Training and testing support for the NDT certification process. 
REQUIREMENTS – EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
1) High School graduate or equivalent.
2) Qualified to the requirements of NAS 410 at the appropriate levels.
3) Good reading comprehension.
4) Ability to comprehend and follow customer requirements and department work instructions and
make decisions based on judgment when required.
5) Good teamwork skills.
6) Ability to work with minimal supervision.
7) Ability to distinguish between acceptable and unacceptable product.
8) Basic math skills.
9) Basis blueprint reading.

8) Record time, production or other required information on the proper forms. Detect and report
faulty parts, equipment, materials or any unusual conditions to the proper supervision.
